The production team is the front line of any manufacturing operation-the smallest functional unit, yet the foundation of safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability. Team leaders sit at a critical crossroads: they are both front-line executors and on-site managers, carrying serious responsibility.

To strengthen the overall management capabilities, on-site control, team leadership, and problem-solving skills of its team leaders, Zhanxiang held the opening ceremony for its Team Leader Development Training Camp on the afternoon of April 14.

Opening Ceremony & Leadership Address

Mr. Su, Production Director of the Zhejiang Base, noted that traditional industries are facing major challenges. Competition in the mid-to-low end market is fierce, and while opportunities exist in the mid-to-high end, they come with higher demands for quality, delivery, and cost control. For the company to transform and upgrade, its core backbone must grow. Mr. Su laid out three key requirements:

1.Stay customer-centric, break out of self-centered thinking, and deliver customer satisfaction.

2.Strengthen cross-functional collaboration, tear down departmental silos, and build cross-functional teams.

3.Establish a results-oriented work ethic-shift from simply "doing tasks" to "getting results."

He also offered three suggestions for the team leaders' learning journey:

1.Keep an open mindset and actively embrace change.

2.Develop proactive learning habits and use fragmented time to improve weak areas.

3.Practice continuous team-based improvement so that knowledge and skills truly take root. Keep pace with the company's evolution and become the pillars of the organization.

Deep Empowerment – Strengthening Team Leader Competence

Mr. Zhang, HR Manager, introduced the training camp from three perspectives: company, department, and individual.

1.Company level: Support the strategic goal by cultivating a lean, capable front-line management team.

2.Department level: Ensure production targets are met with quality and quantity by building a highly competent team leader corps.

3.Individual level: Help participants become production line management backbones equipped with lean management knowledge.

Unlike traditional single-point training, this camp adopts a holistic development philosophy. Centered on role competency and job responsibilities, it systematically builds skills through learning, assessment, practice, evaluation, and competition-blending theory with real application. A key feature is competency-based evaluation, ensuring participants meet recognized, measurable standards. The program focuses on six core abilities: basic office skills, lean fundamentals, team leader management, production capacity attainment, job-specific technical skills, and on-site coordination and improvement. The goal is to motivate team leaders to actively grow and contribute to the company's transformation and upgrading.

Building Cohesion – Team Formation

Mr. Zhang Jian, Assistant General Manager, explained the camp's operating mechanism. Teams were formed, with each group assigned a dedicated mentor. He also outlined expectations for the participating team leaders:

1.Take this seriously, cherish the learning opportunity, and fully engage-learn the knowledge, methods, and skills with focus.

2.Apply what you learn. Integrate management knowledge and working methods into your actual team environment, adapt them, and put them into practice. Think deeply and use effectively.

3.Step up. See this training as a new starting point, strengthen your sense of responsibility, lead by example, and drive your team members to do solid, detailed, and excellent work on the front line.

Training Never Ends – Keep Moving Forward

Oaths were sworn, commitment declared. The pledges from the team leaders are promises, goals, and the call to move forward. All participants are expected to honor their words, follow the discipline, actively engage in learning, think diligently, act decisively, and internalize what they have learned while putting it into practice.

May everyone return with meaningful gains-worthy of the time invested and the trust placed in them. The opening ceremony of Zhanxiang's Team Leader Development Training Camp concluded successfully.
